Compact Voice has published 2 new case studies recently, exploring the current challenges facing local Compacts and sharing good practice.

SOVA signs up to Compact

National charity SOVA has signed up to the Compact.
  
SOVA (Supporting Others through Volunteer Action) have developed a Compact-compliant preferred provider process for new tendering opportunities and contracting. As a result, SOVA have secured Compact Voice’s Compliance Mark.

The National Audit Office (NAO) has commenced working on a review of central government's implementation of the Compact, and Compact Voice are encouraging voluntary organisations to contribute their experiences.

Compact Voice have published a new guide covering everything you need to know to enable your Compact to work effectively. Local Compacts: A User Guide is available as separate sections covering different areas of local Compact working, or as a single publication.

Sector Chief Executives call for more leadership on the Compact

Compact Voice has today issued a letter to Eric Pickles, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. The letter highlights the high levels of support for the Compact from both sectors, which was a key finding of Compact Voice’s recent annual survey.  However, the survey also revealed the need for more leadership at the top - as a result, sector leaders have written to Eric Pickles raising this issue.

Compact Voice have published another good practice case study on partnership working between the Calderdale voluntary sector and their local statutory body.

 Calderdale Council have responded to budget cuts in a mature, proactive and Compact compliant way by marketing the consultation, impact report and draft budget prominently.
