Annual Survey of local Compacts 2014 now open

Compact Voice's fourth annual survey of local Compacts is now open.
.

Local Compacts provide a much needed framework for partnership working between the sectors. They outline reasonable expectations and help foster trust, highlight shared goals and deal with difficult decisions. They can also be a valuable tool in building relationships with new commissioning bodies like Clinical Commissioning Groups and Police and Crime Commissioners.

We believe it is vital that information is gathered which can be used to assess the 'health' and effectiveness of local Compacts in the current policy landscape.

The briefing explains, in clear, jargon-free language, what judicial review is and how it works in practice. Judicial review is the process by which the courts examine the lawfulness of a public authority’s decision.

Compact Awards 2013 - Winners announced

The winners of this year’s Compact Awards have been announced at a ceremony held by Compact Voice last night in Westminster.

The ceremony, attended by over 120 guests, was hosted by Simon Blake OBE, Chair of Compact Voice, and Nick Hurd MP, Minister for Civil Society.
 

Survey reveals highest ever levels of support for the Compact despite lack of resources

Today Compact Voice has published findings from its third annual survey of local Compacts. The results reveal that despite reductions in resourcing, local support for the Compact is at its highest ever levels.

Today Compact Voice and the Office for Civil Society have announced a joint action plan, which sets out clear activities for both to strengthen use of the Compact across government departments.

Compact implementation prominent in government business plans

Government departmental business plans for 2013-14 have now been published, and for the second year running, the Compact is included as a cross-departmental priority.

The plans outline how respective departments will be implementing the Compact and working in partnership with the voluntary and community sector. Compact Voice is pleased that the Compact is prominent in many departmental plans – several have included tangible, positive activities which they will be undertaking to strengthen their relationship with the voluntary sector through the Compact.
