Compact Voice write to Francis Maude about recent consultation timeframes

francis maudeSimon Blake OBE, chair of Compact Voice, has written to the Minister for the Cabinet Office, Francis Maude.

The letter highlights that despite government's continued commitment to encouraging open and transparent decision making, several recent consultations have contradicted this.

We have published the letter below, which encourages government to engage meaningfully when consulting, and offers a number of solutions to encourage this.

The letter also highlights Compact Voice's Meaningful Engagement Guidance (PDF), which outlines steps government should take to ensure they are engaging with the voluntary sector properly when consulting.
