Government's first Social Value Ambassador appointed

Chris White MPIt has been announced today that Chris White MP will become the government's first Social Value Act ambassador.

White, who authored the original Act, will be working closely with Local Authorities and the voluntary sector to raise awareness of the Public Services (Social Value) Act, which came into force earlier this year.

Compact Voice welcome the announcement, especially as one of the early findings emerging from our current annual survey suggests that awareness of the Act needs to be improved.

For more information about Chris White's appointment, see the Cabinet Office press release.

To find out more about the Act, download our guidance for local Compacts and voluntary organisations on the implications of the Social Value Act, which is available in our resources section.
