If my area does not currently have a local Compact, can the national Compact be referred to if an issue arises?

q and a imageThis is a question our Engagement Team is asked quite often. Most areas in England have their own local Compact - however, in some cases where there isn't an active local Compact, or a local Authority has yet to sign up to it - the National Compact can be used in the interim.

Some areas have adopted the national Compact as their local Compact as a temporary measure whilst they update the local document.

For more information on revising, renewing or creating your local Compact, see Local Compacts: A User Guide. Our Engagement Team also offer a variety of support options to help you.

Have you got experience of using the national Compact in a local setting? Let us know how it went below.
