Thank you for your letter on behalf of Compact Voice.
I fully understand the importance of maintaining charities and local groups and I have always encouraged them to work with mainstream organisations such as the Council or Government agencies.
In addition to being a Member of Parliament I am a Chair of a very large charity which uses the power of football to break down barriers in society and engage with some of the most disadvantaged young people in both this country and abroad and I have seen how powerful football can be when the 170 coaches employed by the charity, on a full or part time basis, are doing their work.
